I am guessing you didn't watch the video James Brown posted prologos.
It does stifle curiosity...because it limits it. When you only go so far and believe that some things will always be unknown (god dit it) you are satisfied with your limited knowledge. Or when you believe something is evil. As Neil Degrasse Tyson pointed out in his video. When maths was considered to be a tool of Satan...it was the end of enquiry. And for their culture...it hasn't fully recovered.

I just finished watching your vid James...thank you.
It does make you wonder how much knowledge has been lost due to the culture of belief doesn't it?
I hope that future generations don't revert back to this...but it is easily done. If we start teaching ID in our schools...we can say goodbye to curiosity and exploration. Because belief already gives an explanation for everything and limits our desire to know more. No futher enquiry required other than to support the belief. Such a shame.
But in the meantime...we have wonderful people like Neil Degrasse Tyson...he is not only smart..but he's such a laugh.
But in the meantime...we are awesome! we are star stuff. Lets celebrate!

I get so tired of people complaining about everything President Obama says or does
by booker-t infor the past 4 1/2 years i have heard everything said about president obama and now the lastest "obama being the anti-christ" just have me laughing my head off.
where do people get nonsense like this?
do they just sit around the kitchen table and say "what are we going to say next about obama and michelle?

I personally think Obama is doing an excellant job
I doubt those being tortured at guantanimo would agree...or the people being killed by drones...but then, they don't care who it is in power, when the result is the same.

That was an interesting link Simon, Thanks. It would appear to be an issue that the public themselves need to address.
That website did also make the point I was trying to make...maybe I wasn't being very clear about what I was trying to say. This was what they also said on the link you provided.
Q: As long as court administrators are going out of their way to make sure that African Americans have the opportunity to serve on juries, why is it the court's problem -- or society's, for that matter -- if black citizens fail to exploit that opportunity?
A: Because, in a democratic society, the legitimacy and moral authority of the courts hinges on the participation of everyone. When African Americans are consistently underrepresented, for whatever reason, confidence that minority defendants can obtain equal justice under the law inevitably suffers.

sammies...I agree that the media has pushed the race issue for all it is worth...all the more reason to elimate that in the trial with a good representation of society in the jury. By NOT doing that, they have fed the race issue.

If you don't think they came to the wrong conclusion then what color the jurors were is irrelevant.
It is not irrelevant...it is very relevant. If the law wants the public AS A WHOLE to support its conclusions...it needs to represent the public properly. Can you honestly tell me that a whole white female jury represents the public properly? Seriously?
This is just another reason why people do not feel that the justice system works well...a jury should represent a cross section of society. Otherwise...it is very difficult to prove this jury was not biased. Where as, if the jury had been ballanced with a good representation of society as a whole..there would be less reason for anyone to think there was bias in the conclusion.
To try to say that race issues are irrelevant is to pretend that there are no race issues in society. That does not achieve anything. Race issues needs to be acknowledged. If we don't...this is what happens.

Wow, you people sound bitter and disrespectful of the American justice system.
I'm glad that came accross, I have little respect for the American justice system....there is not a lot to respect IMO...of course, that is just my opinion. Feel free to ignore it.
"And now we get to the real truth - some people want some injustice on their side to balance things out, make things even."
This may be your truth, but it is not mine. I did not say the jury came to the wrong conclusion. I simply stated that the jury should have been a lot more ballanced to represent the WHOLE population. male/female/white/black/every other nationality/young/old.
I made this comment based on the FACT that high court judges HAVE thrown out cases that HAVE been found to be racist BECAUSE the jury was set up like this one. THAT is the similarity. And what I said was, if you want to have the public behind the jury in their conclusion, they jury needs to properly REPRESENT the public. This jury did not. It did not represent men, it did not represent anyone else other than white females.(as a white female I find this intolerable)
If it had represented the public properly...there would not be the backlash that there is. THAT is all I am saying.
